Why do we want to hire someone for this position?

We’ve grown very dynamically in the last year (from 10 people organized into a company of 25) what’s been constantly posing new challenges in front of us. We’ve been focusing solely on the web development side of things thus far, but we see a tremendous potential to ship even more value to our customers if we do the design part right as well (oftentimes, we receive a UI designed poorly that we have to implement)

We want to solve this problem and create awesome products for our customers: ship beautifully designed UI that’s engineered and developed in a perfect way.

Once hired, you’ll work directly with our project managers and developers.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of proven commercial experience in designing web UI interfaces, wireframes, and design interface concepts
• Experience using tools such as Sketch, Figma, InVision
• Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
• Be open to receiving objective feedback and improving upon it.
• Be an exceptional team player who’s experienced in working with agile teams
• Ability to collaborate closely with the project managers and developers
• Written and spoken English at a high enough level to be able to communicate smoothly with the rest of the team
• Portfolio of design projects that you can share during the recruitment process
• Basic understanding of web UX concepts

Responsibilities:

• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with project managers and developers
• Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
• Design graphics user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets
• Build page navigation buttons and search fields
• Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
• Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, and tables)
• Prepare and present rough drafts to internal team
• identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
• Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
• Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and images
• Down the road we want to grow our design team, so you’ll be responsible for hiring and managing the designers (longer-term goal, next ~12 months)
