The Role.

A Product Designer in the Design System team is a critical role within AnywhereWorks. They co-create a comprehensive, elegant design system with a high degree of polish and attention to detail. They lead the team of designers and audit current implementations, identifying potential areas for simplification and improved consistency, think (really) big, and explore divergent concepts while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards the vision. They design stress-tested solutions, with flexibility in mind, ensuring designs are accessible and adaptive to varying workflows, viewports, technologies, and locales. They are capable of creating high-quality mocks and interactive prototypes to convey states, transitions, and/or behaviour’s. They also, plan strategically as a partner with engineering, product, and brand to define the future of design systems and final documentation. Ensure layout, typography, and specs are pixel-perfect. You’re in your happy place when you’re crafting the best possible components.

The ability to communicate flexibilities and/or limitations to designers and developers is crucial. A Design System Product Designer consults with technical disciplines to ensure designs work within given limitations, and files are prepared with all necessary information to support the design intent. In the face of ambiguity, you empathise and collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to build clear, elegant, and robust systems.

What we are looking for.

You are a strong systems thinker and visual designer with hands-on experience contributing to design systems libraries. You know a design system is more than documentation, it’s how we work together. You naturally cross borders and break down silos between disciplines, empowering designers and engineers to work quickly with high standards for quality, reusability, and consistency. You have a strong sense of mobile design and what it takes to implement your designs from a global perspective and consider this in your work.

Skills & Experience.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in product design.

• 2+ years experience as a product designer working directly with design systems.

• Outstanding UI abilities, a keen eye for good design, and a portfolio of live projects.

• Previous experience in building, owning, and maintaining design systems in Figma.

• Experience contributing to mature design systems including component design, documentation, and education.

• Figma expertise, including file organization, and preparation of pixel-perfect files for design team use.

• Ability to articulate ideas verbally and digitally; be clearly understood by creative, product management, and development staff, therefore very good presentation skills.

• Strong understanding of web development, including HTML and CSS.

• Knowledge of technical constraints and guidelines including web, iOS, and Android, and experience designing on multiple platforms.

• Keen interest in championing brand identity through a balance of consistency and flexibility.

• Experience with A11Y guidelines and implementing these at scale

• Experience working in international teams will be a plus
