Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with UX teammates to refine responsive web interactions
  • Communicate potential technical limitations in design, and create interactive prototypes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to advanced interaction models
  • Identifying new design patterns and communicating reuse of existing components is core to this position to maximize design and development efficiency
  • Acting as a lynchpin between the UX and development teams and ensure that the overall experience and quality of the UI meet the expectations from the UX team as things progress through delivery
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas and be absolutely relentless in your pursuit of excellence

 

Job qualifications

  • You utilize semantic HTML and web accessibility best practices
  • You build interactive concepts with front-end technologies to further design conversations
  • You stay aware of current design trends and front-end standards
  • You engage in design reviews to identify interaction design gaps and technical limitations
  • You utilize and understand advanced CSS techniques (flexbox, grid vs float layouts, pseudo elements, etc.)
  • You code for optimization
  • You have experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass, Stylus, Less, etc)
  • You have a firm understanding of different image file types and vector graphics
  • You have a preferred JavaScript framework but are comfortable writing native JavaScript
  • You use Git and have experience with peer code reviewing
  • You are comfortable using the command line / terminal
  • You use package management as part of your daily workflow

Travel requirements

The position might require some travel post-pandemic, domestic and international, on a regular basis, comprising no more than 20% of total days worked.
