Project description
The Accessibility Initiatives aim to foster inclusivity and enhance accessibility capabilities within the organization by expanding the A11y team and establishing accessibility champions. This initiative focuses on creating structured guidelines and tools, integrating accessibility into processes and workshops, and maintaining ongoing communication and awareness across the organization. Additionally, it emphasizes research and innovation, legal compliance, and strategic planning to ensure accessibility is a core component of our products and communications. We seek an accessibility expert to lead these efforts, ensuring our commitment to inclusivity and compliance with legal standards.

Role responsibilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support accessibility implementation and ensure our products promote effective learning for all users.
• Provide guidance to the UX Team on accessible design, and support Developers and QA Engineers in implementing accessibility solutions that meet standards. Work with other accessibility specialists to consistently review and enhance practices.
• Utilize strong marketing skills to promote accessibility, create compelling presentations, and communicate objectives clearly to various stakeholders.
• Drive accessibility leadership by staying current with standards and laws while cultivating a unified, organization-wide approach through collaboration with all departments.

Must-have requirements
• Proven experience in accessibility, expertise in WCAG standards, a strong portfolio of accessibility initiatives, and preferably a certification in accessibility (e.g. CPACC, WAS, CPWA).
• Robust communication and cooperative skills, coupled with strong marketing and presentation acumen.
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
• A profound interest and expertise in designing accessible and inclusive digital products.
• Solid understanding of the design thinking process.
• Basic knowledge of accessibility implementation in frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with the ability to talk with developers about the technical implementation of accessible solutions.

Nice-to-have requirements
• Preferable: Experience in front-end development, user research activities, working with design systems.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies and understanding how they work and how to use them for testing digital products (both Web and mobile).
• Experience in accessibility testing, both automated and manual.
