Essential duties and responsibilities

• Write guidelines, evolve UI components and patterns and maintain design libraries.
• Contribute to strategy-setting and provide design feedback to people across the organization implementing the design system.
• Sketch, prototype, and create high fidelity artifacts for the team, using your judgement to determine the best formats and fidelities for your work.
• Use research and data to inform your design solutions.
• Conduct audits of competitors’ user experiences to discover insights and opportunities.
• Test prototypes with internal customers to collect feedback.
• Close collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas and be absolutely relentless in your pursuit of excellence.

Job qualifications

• You have two or more years of experience working as a product designer or similar role working directly with design systems.
• You have experience contributing to mature design systems including component and pattern design, documentation, and education.
• A Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university (or equivalent) in Interaction Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communication & Multimedia Design/Media Technology or related would be a big plus.
• You have a deep understanding of typography, color, layout and motion design principles.
• You are passionate about design and technology trends.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong collaboration and creative problem-solving skills.
• You are both a self-starter and team-oriented, with a willingness to learn.
• You are open to feedback and have no issues receiving (constructive) criticism.
• You have experience working in distributed, collaborative teams and working directly with development groups for the implementation of designs

Online Portfolio (required)

• Your portfolio should demonstrate a track record of developing simple and elegant user interfaces
• A portfolio that includes design work for complex online applications will be a plus
• You should be prepared to speak about the processes used to develop your solutions and the specific role that you played in these processes

Technical Skills

• You have experience working with design systems and are familiar with creating UX patterns
• You master design software such as Sketch, InVision, Abstract and Adobe Creative Suite
• You know how to work with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• You have a basic understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
