Your future role and team

Based in our Kraków development center in Poland, you will be working on the next set of features that will bring the user experience to the next level, as well as improving the current capabilities of the product. Our warehouses and  logistics solutions are truly cutting edge: automated and system driven, able to fulfil customers orders accurately and effectively at large volume. Combined with the ecommerce platform, they set the direction of future online groceries. With a team you’ll be delivering world industry leading designs to allow staff to run the warehouse, resolve problems in real time and oversee their operations. You’ll be responsible for the work you produce and accountable for its impact on key KPIs. Learn about how we work.

The User Experience team at Ocado Technology plays a crucial role because our work is not limited to interaction on screens; it compliments the unique physical conditions and bespoke hardware of the warehouse and logistics facilities. With this autonomy, you’ll be a champion of everything UX in the company, collaborating with product managers, developers, data analysts, clients and other stakeholders of the importance of UX. Designing is the easy part, convincing is much harder. 

User Experience toolkit: You will be kitted up with tools like Adobe, Figma, and Userzoom, the User Experience team can design user interfaces quickly and intuitively, run remote user testing sessions, collaborate and work efficiently – giving them more time to do what they do best!

Some things you might work on:

Skills:

  • Sense of aesthetics, good visual design skills. Every pixel matters.
  • Familiar with the rules of using a design system.
  • Great problem-solving skills. We work on a very complex product.
  • Quantitative and qualitative skills, such as: designing and conducting generative research, user testing, usability surveys, etc. Ability to choose the right research method to the problem, analyse results and give recommendations. 
  • Strong team spirit and collaboration skills. We need a designer who can liaise with many stakeholders, keep the team informed of their progress and collaborate with others in their projects.
  • Good practical knowledge of Design Thinking and ideation methods.
  • Facilitation skills and experience in running workshops with various stakeholders.
  • HTML & CSS – basic understanding.
  • Nice to have: experience in B2B environment. 

Requirements 

  • 3+ years of commercial experience.
  • An online portfolio, showing the breadth of your UX skills, including at least 2 case studies demonstrating your journey from problem to solution and validation. 
  • Fluent English (at least B2/C1) is required.
  • Able to travel: our head office is in the UK, and our clients are in Europe and beyond (currently dictated by the pandemic situation).
  • Residence and work permit in Poland (we currently work remotely but ultimately we want to support the hybrid model).
